Abstract/Summary
This report presents the results of a programme of Archaeological Field Evaluation undertaken between the 9th of September and 25th of September 2024 in connection with outline Planning Application for up to 60 dwellings, including affordable housing, with new vehicular access, open space, children’s play area and associated infrastructure. The site comprised a roughly triangular plot of land covering approximately 2.53ha on the east side of TowcesterRoad, close to the settlement edge of southwest Northampton.A total of 21 evaluation trenches were opened across the site to target geophysical anomalies identified duringprior magnetometer survey. However, none of the trenches contained archaeological features of interest.
