Abstract/Summary

This report details the results of archaeological observation, investigation, recording, analysis and publication (OIRAP) carried out by University of Leicester Archaeological Services (ULAS) at 10, Main Road, Watford, Northamptonshire. The work was undertaken between 7th and 13th May 2024 on behalf of Daniel Weekes in advance of construction of a new detached dwelling and associated works on the site. Archaeological attendance and recording were undertaken during the groundworks. The works revealed a uniform deposit of garden soil overlying natural clay. The mixed character of the garden soil reflected the use of the site as allotments over a period of time. No archaeology was present. The report and digital record of the work will be deposited under the Oasis number universi1-0524906 with the Archaeology Data Service. Due to the negative archaeological remains the archive has been deemed sterile and therefore not deposited with the museum. Instead, the recorded data is presented within this report. The event number ENN111412. has been allocated to the work by Northamptonshire HER
