Abstract/Summary
The evaluation was successfully carried out with 28 of the 31 intended trenches opened in two fields. The trenches revealed a number of features; which ditches, gullies, pits, postholes and furrows. Almost all are undated, but with some prehistoric flintwork recorded. Aside from one Medieval pottery sherd recovered from a furrow no pottery was found. The ridge and furrow system could be medieval in date but was still in use in the post-medieval period as shown by the ceramic drains that were aligned down the centre of these furrows. On the basis of these results the site is considered to have low potential for finding archaeology of any significance.
