Title | GEOPHYSICAL SURVEY REPORT: A14 Junction 10a and A6 Link Road, Kettering, Northamptonshire |
Author/Originator | Rebecca Fradgley |
Date/Year | 2025 |
Abstract/Summary
A detailed magnetometer survey was conducted over approximately 13 hectares at Junction 10a of the A14, near Kettering, and it has revealed a complex of anomalies associated with later prehistoric / Romano-British occupation. The responses include numerous large enclosures, adjoining smaller enclosures, a ring ditch and discrete anomalies indicative of pits. Several responses of uncertain origin have also been identified in the results; these could be archaeological, a result of former ironstone quarrying or have a natural explanation. Ridge and furrow is mapped across the site, along with areas of natural variation and modern ferrous disturbance.
