Abstract/Summary
This report details the results of archaeological Observation, Investigation, Recording, Analysis and Publication (OIRAP) carried out by University of Leicester Archaeological Services (ULAS) at 36 High Street, West Haddon. The work was undertaken between 15/01/25 and 14/02/25 on behalf of Sean Duggan on behalf of N V Modhwadia Ltd in advance of construction of a rear extension to retail premises, relocation of external staircase to the first floor flat and construction of new retaining wall and courtyard. Two visits were made to the site, the first following removal of a retaining boundary wall and the second after ground reduction across the entire development area. This entailed the removal of garden soil and subsoil followed by excavation down into natural rock and clay. Consequently, if any archaeology had been present, it had been removed. The report and digital record of the work will be deposited under the Oasis number universi1‐531690 with the Archaeology Data Service. Due to the absence of archaeological remains of any significance the archive (ENN 111651) has been deemed sterile and therefore will not deposited with the Northamptonshire Archaeological Resource Centre. Instead, the recorded site data is presented within this report as Appendices.
