Abstract/Summary

Between November 2025 and January 2026, KDK Archaeology Ltd undertook an Archaeological Monitoring and Recording, at The Services Area, Thenford Gardens,Thenford, Northamptonshire, during the construction of a steel framed general-purpose building. The excavation for 21 concrete pads was observed, as well as an L shaped footing trench connecting the west and south pads. Despite lying within an extensive archaeological landscape that encompasses an Iron Age and Roman-British settlement with a Roman villa, now a Scheduled Monument, immediately adjacent to the development site, no archaeological finds, features or deposits were found within any of the groundworks.
