Abstract/Summary

The building and its outbuildings were subject to a programme of building recording. The condition was variable, with the main house essentially sound and recorded fully, while outbuildings were in a state of disrepair and unsafe to enter or approach its external walls due to risk of collapse, which limited the recording in some areas. The existing house consists of two stone-built ranges, of different construction, both of two storeys and a cellar. Stylistically, the eastern range appears to be no earlier than the 18th century, and mapping evidence suggests it was built between 1817 and 1886. The western range is present by 1886 and is almost certainly 19th century in date. The remaining outbuildings likely date to the same period and reflect a single construction phase for the farm
