Abstract/Summary
CFA Archaeology Ltd was commissioned by Ecologia Environmental Solutions Ltd to undertake historic building recording on the cellar of No. 6 Watford Road, Crick, Northamptonshire, also known as Buswells. An Observation, Investigation, Recording, Analysis and Publication (OIRAP) was also undertaken within the cellar during remedial works to clean the area after a spillage of heating oil. The archaeological works were a condition of the listed building consent needed for this remedial work which required the lifting of an historic floor surface and creating a new access route into the cellar. No. 6 Watford Road is a three bay Grade II Listed Building (HLE No.1076436), constructed in brick over two storeys, and dates to c.1800, with 20th century additions. The interior of the building, including the cellar is not described within the list entry for the building. The recording was limited to the cellar area only.
