Abstract/Summary

This report details the results of a photographic historic building survey carried out by University of Leicester Archaeological Services (ULAS) on the western boundary wall at Cedars Farm, Thornby Road, Cold Ashby, Northamptonshire. The work was undertaken on the 29th of May 2025 on behalf of Thornby Properties in advance of the demolition of the boundary wall and the redevelopment of the former farm and barns site. The whole site consists of brick and stone‐built structures with the earliest dating to the late 18th or early 19th century. The buildings have already been the subject of an earlier historic building survey. This report covers a survey of the stone and brick‐built western boundary wall which formed part of an earlier, now demolished, former ironstone and brick cottage of possible 18th or 19th century origins which was built in the south‐western corner of the site against the farmhouse and Thornby Road. The brick component of the wall is of 19th century date. The digital archive will be deposited with the Archaeological Data Service (ADS), under Event No ENN111760
