Title MERCEDES AMG FORMULA ONE TEAM SITE, BRACKLEY, NORTHAMPTONSHIRE: AN ARCHAEOLOGICAL EVALUATION
Author/Originator
Date/Year 2024

Abstract/Summary

Pre-Construct Archaeology was commissioned by Mercedes-Benz Grand Prix Estates Ltd to undertake an archaeological evaluation on land at Herrieffs Farm Road in Brackley, Northamptonshire (Site centred NGR: SP 58785 36413; Figure 1). The trenching was required to investigate the potential for archaeological remains to be present on the site ahead of proposed redevelopment. A total of six trenches were opened across the area, and all were devoid of archaeological activity. Trench 1 contained one feature that was fully investigated, however this was found to be modern in date. Trench 1 and Trench 6 also contained layers comprised of demolition rubble and hardcore, again likely to be related to relatively recent landscaping and demolition in the area. The evaluation suggested that there is very limited potential for archaeological finds, features or deposits to survive within the area of the site
