Abstract/Summary

This report contains the results of the osteological analysis of the surviving human bone assemblage recovered during archaeological works at Newton St Leonard’s Church Site (SP8865865), in November/December 1970 and July 1972. 159 distinct individuals were recorded together with the disarticulated remains of possibly a minimum of 15 further individuals. However, poor recording and curation processes meant that many of the disarticulated bones belonged to the burials recorded as individuals, make calculation of final numbers of burials impossible. Notes made by D N Hall at the time of the excavations were also referred to.
