Abstract/Summary

In 2022 to 2023, Cotswold Archaeology conducted an archaeological investigation of land on either side of the Dallington Brook at Harlestone Park, on the north-west side of New Duston in Northamptonshire. The large-scale nature of this excavation offered a rare opportunity to investigate not only Middle to Late Iron Age occupation of the site but the entire past landscape, from the early prehistoric to the post-medieval/modern periods. The archaeological work was undertaken in advance of residential development and was funded by Bloor Homes South Midlands. This storymap is designed to allow you to explore some of the key periods of activity, features and artefacts associated with the site in a way that you can’t in a traditional book, particularly through 3D models and aerial drone footage. You can work your way through the story chronologically or pick and choose the information you are most interested in.
