Abstract/Summary
Headland Archaeology Ltd, was commissioned by Anglian Water PLC to fulfil a recommended condition set by The Archaeological Advisor for Northamptonshire Council regarding the route of a new water pipeline between Towcester and Tiffield. 4 trenches measuring 2m wide x 30m long were placed along the development area. Three were blank except for plough scarring and one trench had the remains of the Stratford on Avon, Towcester and Midlands Junction Railway line which closed during the early 1960s
