Abstract/Summary
Between the 7th and 13th May, and 15th October 2024, Oxford Archaeology undertook a programme of archaeological trial trenching at the site of a proposed rural residential development west of Griffin Road in Braybrooke, Northamptonshire. The proposed development covers an area of c. 0.7ha. As a condition of the planning application, a total of seven trenches were excavated across the site. The evaluation recorded a series of medieval and post-medieval field boundary ditches in the south-west of the site. One of these ditches contained a rich assemblage of carbonised plant remains comprising charred cereal grains, possibly indicating crop processing in the near vicinity during the medieval period.
