Abstract/Summary

Desk based study and trial excavation were carried out by Northamptonshire Archaeology ahead of proposed development on land east of St. Mary's Hill, Woodnewton. Examination of historic maps suggest that the area was situated within an allotment/garden to the rear of a property fronting on to the village's Main street from the 18th century onwards. The three trial trenches excavated within the application area revealed a single post-medieval track/surface.
