Abstract/Summary

Shows the house on both ground and first floor levels, but clearly not as it survives today. Like many Thorpe plans it has an element of the actual and the desired. Some structural elements survive to this day, others seem to be proposals. The north and the west side of the building in particular are elements never carried out, as evidenced by the excavations of 1987-94 (Dix et al).
