Title Excavations at Berry Hill Close, Culworth, Northamptonshire, 1992
Author/Originator
Date/Year 1993

Abstract/Summary

Archaeological investigations of part of Berry Hill Close, Culworth, required for use as a cemetery extension, revealed the remains of a middle Iron Age enclosure. None of the recorded features survived above the natural ironstone and the only overlying stratification was a thick layer of agricultural subsoil. The lack of evidence of Saxon and Medieval occupation is particularly noticeable given the proximity of a contemporary ringwork.
