Abstract/Summary

Trial excavation was undertaken on land adjacent to the Equestrian Centre at Shortwood Lodge, Nassington, Northamptonshire (ngr TL043962). A site located by geophysical survey comprised a curving boundary ditch, a possible small enclosure and other linear ditches. Two evaluation trenches were sited to intersect these features. The presence of five ditches and a single pit was confirmed and they were shown to be middle to middle/late Iron Age date.
