Abstract/Summary
Dash Farm Close lies within the medieval village of Little Weldon, Northamptonshire. Little Weldon has Saxon origins and is mentioned in the Domesday Book. The area is known to have been a centre for iron working and stone working during the medieval and post-medieval periods. Documentary research indicated that the area of potential development has been open ground since at least the late sixteenth century. Trial excavation produced no evidence of ancient remains, and only a small quantity of medieval pottery from a buried soil horizon adjacent to the river.
