Abstract/Summary
Evaluation trenches and further excavation in advance of development to the south of St Peter's Church and adjacent to park Road revealed part of an early Saxon cremation cemetery, probably of 6th century date, and late Saxon ditched boundaries. All of the features were truncated, presumably as the result of intensive spade-dug cultivation.
