Abstract/Summary

A road improvement scheme between Wellingborough and Great Harrowden was carried out in the spring of 1987. Observations were made over the whole length of the new road alignment but archaeological features were noted only at the north end in the area where a complex of cropmarks had been noted. The method of working was such that it was virtually impossible to record any features on the line of the new road itself, but ditches were revealed in a new drainage trench on the west side.
