Abstract/Summary

An archaeological watching brief was carried out between April 1996 and May 1997 during the groundworks for a relay water main at Desborough. Much of the area was destroyed by quarrying during the late nineteenth century. However, because the actual extent of quarrying is not known, and significant Anglo-Saxon remains have been recorded from the area, it was felt that there might be potential for archaeological deposits within the area. The work, however, produced no evidence for ancient remains.
