Abstract/Summary
An archaeological watching brief was maintained during groundwork for an extension to an existing bungalow at 30 Church Street, Weldon, Northamptonshire (centred on SP 92958938 and Fig.1). The work comprised the removal of topsoil in the area of the footprint of the new building and subsequent excavation of three narrow trenches. No archaeological features, deposits, and/or artefacts were present within the footprint of the new building. Previous modern groundwork appears to have removed and stratification above the natural geology but without penetrating deeply into the geological layer.
