Abstract/Summary

A Desk-based study was carried out by Northamptonshire Archaeology ahead of proposed redevelopment of a 1.73 hectare site between Guidhall Road, Albion Place and Victoria Promenade, Northampton. Examination of historic maps indicates that the application area falls within the historic walled town of Northampton. Extensive development during the 19th and 20th centuries suggests that there may only be scattered survival of significant archaeological deposits may be piecemeal.
