Abstract/Summary

Four separate archaeological trial trenches were excavated by Northamptonshire Archaeology, acting for clients, on land off St Peter's Way, Cogenhoe on 8-11 January 1996. The cuttings revealed a sparse scatter of natural-cut features comprising three gullies and four postholes, all truncated by subsequent cultivation. A uniform stratification was recorded in all parts of the site, comprising a layer of ploughsoil above an earlier cultivation horizon. Apart from two small flint flakes in the subsoil there were no other finds and such few features as were present remain undated.
