Abstract/Summary

An archaeological watching brief and metal detecting survey carried out during the installation of a water main in Barby parish, Northamptonshire, showed that the associated works neither disturbed any known archaeological sites nor uncovered new ones. Finds ranging from c.2000 BC until the present century were plotted and indicate that Romano-British remains may lie in the vicinity of Barby Hill. It is also possible that a Bronze Age cremation had once existed in the same area.
