Description

House. Datestone 1702, extended and remodelled early/mid C19. Squared coursed limestone with ashlar dressings. Collyweston slate roof. L-shape plan. 2 storeys. Main front is of 3-window range. Central, C20 part-glazed door with ashlar dressings. 6-panel, unhorned, sash windows with similar ashlar dressings. Ashlar quoins. Hipped roof with lateral stone stacks. Datestone on left stack, is probably reset. Sundial to first floor right of main front has inscription, "Naro Vera". 3-window range of le ded casements, under wood lintels, at right angles to rear. Interior: kitchen in rear range probably has open fireplace, now blocked. Early C19 staircase with stick balustrade. (RCHM: An Inventory of Architectural Monuments in North Northamptonshire: p60)
