Description

House, now school. Dated 1665, remodelled mid C18; alterations and additions of 1841 and 1900. Coursed squared ironstone, slate roof, stone end stacks. 3-unit plan. 2 storeys and attic; 5-window range. Central part-glazed door with stone lintel and keyblock flanked by Doric columns supporting section of entablature and open pediment; stonework all painted. 12-pane sash windows to ground and first floor with stone lintels and keyblocks (painted), except for 2-storey canted bay window to left with similar windows. Chamfered plinth, painted stone storey-band, quoins, moulded wood eaves and stone-coped gables with kneelers. Kneeler to left inscribed 1841, that to right 1900. Datestone in left gable inscribed 1665. C20 extensions to rear are not of special architectural interest. Interior much altered C19.
