Description

Stables, coach house and outbuildings. Probably c.1740 remodelled mid C19. Lias ashlar and regular coursed limestone with slate and stone slate roofs. Range of 3 coach houses and 2 stables with attached outbuilding. Single storey with haylofts. Range of 3 segmental-arch head openings to left have keyblocks with arch head entrance to hayloft stair between. Hayloft dormer above. Central gable. 2 casements and door to left all under stone lintels. Stables to right have similar central entrance and flanking casements. Ashlar gable parapets and kneelers. Armorial plaque in gable. Outbuilding attached to left has stone slate roof. Plank door to rear under wood lintel. Interior of outbuilding has open fireplace and was probably used as a bakehouse to the Old Rectory (q.v.). Included for group value. Section of wall attached.
