Description

Gardeners house. C17 and C18 for Brudenell family of Deene Hall. Squared coursed limestone and red brick with Collyweston slate roof. Originally probably a C17 one-unit house to which a C18 two-unit house was added. Main front of C18 house is brick with a 3-window range of C19 casements under shallow brick arches. C20 door, under similar head, to far left. Brick stacks at ends. A one-unit single-storey stone range, attached to left, is probably C17 and has 2 windows with moulded stone surrounds. Rear elevation is similar. Interior not inspected. A range of similar shape appears on the estate map of 1747. (Northamptonshire Records Office; Cartographical Collection)
