Description

4 almshouses, now 2 almshouses. Datestone 1749, founded by Elizabeth Hutcheson, altered C20. Finely squared coursed limestone with Collyweston slate roof. Each originally 2-unit plans. Single storey. Together comprising a 10-window range of C20 casements under concrete lintels. 2 recessed porches with C20 doors and windows, between window ranges. Ashlar gable parapets and ashlar ridge and end stacks with moulded cornices. Central tablet, with moulded cornice above, has inscription, "Viduanum Hospitium 1749". Converted into 2 almshouses C20.
