Description
Also known as The Old Maltings.The Old Maltings in St James Road was built in 1888 for the Castle Brewery which was operated by Thomas Manning and Company Limited, and situated in Black Lion HIll. The building had two kilns and is thought to be the first to have a concrete floor. The brewery closed in about 1933.In 1994 the building became part of Frog Island microbrewery.
