Description

Rectory now house. Mid C18. Architect probably William Smith II. Lias ashlar with slate roof. Double depth plan. 2-Storeys with attic, 5-window range. Central entrance with Gibbs surround and C19 panelled door. Sash window with glazing bars and flat arched heads. Hipped roof with dormers. Central ashlar stack. South front similar, C19 extension to west. Interior: Drawing room on south front has white marble fireplace reputedly by John Whiting and moulded cornice. Reeded door cases. Main staircase of pine with half landing has, fielded panelled dado and twisted balustrade. (Buildings of England: Northamptonshire p.164).
