Description
Public house. C17 and C19. Regular coursed limestone with pantile and concrete pantile roofs. Originally 2-unit plan. Single storey with attic 2-window range at ground floor. Canted bay window with glazing bars, ashlar base and flat roof, to left. Casement window with glazing bars, ashlar dressing and wood lintel, to right. 2 gabled half dormers, to attic, have similar casements, under wood lintels. Central C20 door, under wood lintel. Gable parapets with concrete copings and brick stacks at end . Left gable has evidence of earlier roof line and blocked openings. Rear wing has C20 concrete pantile roof. Interior has open fireplace with bressumer. The bressumer has a scratched date 1673, probably not original. Included for group value.
