Description

House. Dated 1591 altered C18, C19 and C20. Regular coursed limestone with Collyweston slate roof. Originally probably 2-unit plan. 2 storeys. 2-window range of C20 p.v.c. casements, in original openings, under wood lintels. 2 lintels to left has stop-chamfers. Central C20 lean-to porch. Partly rebuilt stone stacks at ridge and end. Interior: rooms to left and right of entrance have open fireplaces with bressumers. Room to right of entrance has remains of winder stair, to left of fireplace, and pine beam with date 1541. The date is flanked by fluting and there is a rosette on the soffitt of the beam C19 roof structure. Included for group value.
