Description

The East front consists of 2 buildings. The South range is 3 storeyed, early C18 ashlar with a moulded and modillioned cornice at the 2nd floor. Balustraded parapet which is continuous with the north range. In the 1st floor are 5 sash windows in moulded stone keystoned frames with scroll bracketed cills. Above the cornice in 2nd floor are 3 sash windows in similar frames. The North range is new or rebuilt. 2 storeyed ironstone ashlar with a projecting porch and a low 2-storeyed wing on the north again. The porch has Doric style side angle caps and a broken pediment to the doorway; the gable of the porch is curved and has a moulded scrolled panel in it. The sash windows have moulded stone frames with segmental pediments and pulvinated friezes. The ironstone front gate piers to this range have ball finials. Interior - the fittings of the south range are mostly modern but the first floor rooms in front are said to have some C18 white painted panelling. The sash windows here are C18-19. At the back, exterior, on the south-west is a modern 2-storeyed connected block with 4 sash windows and a Welsh slated hipped roof.
