Description
House, formerly farmhouse. Late C17, altered C19 and C20. Coursed squared ironstone, C20 plain-tile roof, brick end and ridge stacks on stone bases, except for brick end stack to left. 3-unit plan. 2 storeys and attic; 3-window range. Entrance front faces yard and has central C20 door in C20 window porch. Blocked door to right with stop-chamfered wood lintel. A 3-light C20 casement window to far right with moulded stone surround of original mullion window (sill lowered). A 3-light casement to left of door. 2-light casement to far left, both with timber lintels. Two gabled dormer windows either side of small rectangular dormer. Quoins and stone-coped gables with kneelers. Attached cottage to right, probably late C18, of coursed ironstone and limestone rubble with corrugated asbestos roof and brick end stack. 2-unit plan. 2-storey, 2-window range. Plank door to right of centre, a 3-light casement window to left, and one-light window to right, all with stop-chamfered wood lintels. 3-light casements to first floor with wood lintels. Interior: Ivy Bank has chamfered spine beams. Ivy Cottage has brick-lined cellar with stop-chamfered spine beam.
