Description
A small defensive earthwork consisting of a rampart on north and south with possible outer ditch, and two ramparts on west. {AM7} Site situated at foot of south slope of Borough Hill hillfort (SAM NN40). West rampart 1.5m above interior. West ditch 4m wide, 3.5m deep. Entrance above south-west corner. Wide entrances, probably modern, in centre of south rampart, giving onto wide area (22m) between rampart and central platform. Much disturbance in this area, possibly quarrying associated with nearby C19th brickworks. Low embankment visible in waste ground outside south boundary of ancient monument. {AM12 1981}
