Description

House, formerly farmhouse and inn. Mid-late C17, extended C18, with C19 and C20 alterations. Coursed limestone rubble, plain-tile roof, stone end and ridge stacks, except for brick ridge stack to right of centre. T plan. 2-storey, 3-window range. 6-panel door to right of centre, 4-panel door to left of centre, both with wood lintels, the latter with overlight and straight hood on brackets. This door is flanked by large tripartite sash windows with wood lintels. Blocked window or door to ground floor centre, flanked by 9-pane sashes, C20 casement window to ground floor far right, pair of 12-pane sashes to 1st floor, all with wood lintels, and 2-light gabled half-dormer window to 1st floor right of centre with chamfered stone surround. Projecting wing to rear has 3-light ovolo-moulded stone mullion windows with hood moulds and stone-coped gable with kneelers. Interior has bar-stop-chamfered spine beams and moulded stop-chamfered spine beam. Formerly a public house, the New Inn.
