Description
House, formerly rectory. C18 with C19 alterations. Coursed squared limestone with sandstone dressings, some brick to side and rear; slate roof, various brick stacks. 2 storeys and attic; 3-window range. Entrance front has central part-glazed door in stone gabled porch. 12-pane Gothick sashes throughout with stone sills, jambs, lintels and thin hood-moulds. First floor storey band, stone eaves, hipped roof. 2-storey canted bays to right and left sides, the latter with upper storey of white brick. That to right stands on a high base above the road on that side and has an iron balcony. Base wall to road side incorporates a possible Romanesque impost with herringbone-moulding. Later C19 extensions to rear. Interior has late C18 staircase with turned balusters.
