Left hand corner of No. 17 (Middle Cottage) breaks forward, also right hand corner of No. 18, probably indicating the extent of the original 3-unit house. Lean-to extension, with C20 pantile roof, to right of centre. Right gable of No. 18 has a half hipped roof. Brick and stone stacks at ridge and end. Rear elevation of main range has C19 and C20 casements under wood lintels and eyebrow dormers. Semi-circular bread oven projection to right of No. 17 (Middle Cottage). C19 one window range attached to rear of No. 16, and abutting the road, has C20 concrete roof. Single-storey range, attached, now forms part of house, with garage, and has a Colleyweston slate roof. Interior; No. 17 (Middle Cottage) has 2 open fireplaces with bressumers and stop-chamfered spine beams. Interiors of Nos. 16 and 18 not inspected. Single-storey range abutting road said to have been the forge. Probably converted to several farmworkers dwellings during C19. Included for group value.
