Description

Well head and attached trough. Late C19 for Lord Lilford. Ashlar trough and plinth with wooden well-head and plain-tile roof. Well head is decorated with Gothic tracery and 2 angels. Hipped roof forming a hood over the well head has a wooden cross at the ridge. Inscription under eaves: "In Memory of Thomas Atherton Powys MDCCCLXXXII". Wooden covers to well and cast-iron well and lead spout to rear. Erected by fourth Baron Lilford in memory of his son. (Northamptonshire Records Office, Architectural Drawings Collection).
