Description

Farmhouse. Recorded in survey of 1610, mainly late C17 and late C18. Regular coursed and squared limestone, brick extension to rear and Welsh and Colleyweston slate roofs. Originally probably 2-unit plan, now irregular L-shape. 2 storey. Main front of late C18. 4-window range of varying sized C20 casements, some in original openings. Those at first floor have gauged stone heads. Central C20 door and porch. Late C17 double gabled cross wing to right has one-window range on return wall with C20 casements in original opening under wood lintel. C20 glazed doors to right also under wood lintel. Ashlar gable parapets and ashlar stacks at ridge and end. Rear of cross wing has one hipped dormer. Rear elevation has early C19 brick extension with catslide roof adjacent. Interior: chamfered spine beams, those in cross wing are moulded. Remains of open fireplace with bressumer also in cross wing. Main staircase has some late C18 turned balusters, probably reset.
