Description
Pair of houses. C17. Coursed squared ironstone, artificial stone slate roof, brick stacks. 2 storeys, 8 bays. 2 left bays are lower and of a different build. Entrance to No. 7 in third bay from left has doorway with plain stone frame, plank door and flat wooden hood on brackets. Two 2-light casement windows to left with wood lintels. 2 windows to right have square stone hoods with wood lintels inserted below them and C18/C19 three-light wood casements. One-light casement window with wood lintel in left bay on first floor. 2-light casement window with wood lintel in second bay. Two 2-light windows with stone mullions in third and fourth bays from left. Entrance to No. 9 and rear approach is from passage in right bay which has opening with wood lintel. 2 three-light windows to left with wood lintels and old iron casements. Similar 2-light window in left bay. 3-light window with wood lintels and old iron casements on first floor and similar 2-light window in right bay. Coped gable end with kneelers. Interior of No. 7 remodelled C19, has open fireplace with bread oven, chamfered spine beams and winder staircase. Interior of No. 9 not inspected, but said to have open fireplace and chamfered beams.
