Description
{1} On the basis of of the results of the archaeological evaluation undertaken in 1997 a requirement for an archaeological watching brief was made. The evaluation had demonstrated an area of archaeological potential which could not be tested due to the presence of live electricity cables. Only a small area was available for the watching brief. A culvert constructed of roughly cut stone and associated with 15th-16th century pottery was noted. Several foundation trenches were also observed and two 19th century brick-lined wells were noted.
