Abstract/Summary

On the basis of of the results of the archaeological evaluation undertaken in 1997 a requirement for an archaeological watching brief was made. The evaluation had demonstrated an area of archaeological potential which could not be tested due to the presence of live electricity cables. Subsequent to the evaluation a building had been constructed leaving only a small area available for the watching brief. Within this area it was possible to examine a bank created by the site works and a culvert was noted. It was constructed of roughly cut stone and associated with 15th-16th century pottery. Several foundation trenches were observed and two 19th century brick-lined wells were noted.
