Description
{1} The trial excavation took place over known cropmarks consisting of a possible sub-rectangular enclosure as well as parallel linear marks and irregular features on the northern part of the field. Only the possible sub-rectangular enclosure was found and consisted of two ditches which could represent its northern and eastern sides. These were both about 3m wide and were partially excavated. No internal features were found but outside a possible shallow pit could represent infilling of a natural hollow. This enclosure seems to have been dated to the Iron Age by two small sherds. Site code: SH00.
