Description

{1} Excavation across much of the area was not deep enough to expose archaeological levels, apart from two deeper trenches which were excavated north-south across the site. A single medieval 13th/14th ditch was observed in both of the trenches. It may be part of an enclosure ditch excavated 30m to the east in 1995. The watching brief seems to confirm the 1994 evaluation trenches on the site and found that occupation in this area was only sparse perhaps due to its steeply sloping ground. Site code: GCD99.
