Description

{1} Archaeological excavation of single trenches on three sites on the line of the new A43 Silverstone bypass. Three assart and field boundaries recorded from historic maps were examined in the hope that evidence to date to establishment of the boundaries. One field boundary was associated with a bank and ditch which may have been of some antiquity, but the other two boundary ditches examined appeared to be modern in date. The report suggests that the modern ditches may have removed any evidence for earlier boundaries.
