Description

{1} Archaeological evaluation involving a desk-based assessment and trial excavation was undertaken on land off Watling Street. Of the eight trenches excavated across the development area, only two contained archaeological features. A possible C2nd boundary ditch was uncovered towards the centre of the development area. A stone wall and cobbled trackway were encountered which may have been associated with the medieval leper hospital of St Leonard's.
